All-star British geezer movie King of Thieves screened in advance for Unlimited members last night, unleashing the full force of an incredible ensemble including Michael Caine, Ray Winstone and Michael Gambon.
Directed by The Theory of Everything's James Marsh, the movie is based on the infamous 2015 Hatton Garden robbery, the most lucrative jewel heist in British history. So what did Unlimited members make of it? We'll start with this from RainyDayLass1989.
I really liked it! Felt like a proper throwback film - an intriguing plot, a jazzy score, lots of laughs... and who could fail to love all these veteran British legends making everything that much better?

Louis says the movie offers a chance for several British legends to strut their stuff.
Went to the showing at Wakefield.Brilliantly cast and delivered with top notch performances across the board.Caine,Broadbent and Winstone sparkled & shone with masterclasses in villainy.

On the other hand, Emma felt the movie went on for too long.
I’m sad to say I was left disappointed. Some great talent, and yes there were some laughs and good moments, but the film dragged on for what felt like a lot longer than its 108 minute run time.

Mixed feelings, as i wasnt disappointed but wasn't blown away either. Expected some OTT heist movie marketing off the "true events" tag line which so many movies do nowadays.

An entertaining crime caper with a solid cast. Steal some time to see this if heist movies are your bag.
And for Carl, the movie was a mixed swag bag of positives and negatives.
Excellent cast. Seemed some of the humour was too forced. Very intrusive music score. Francesca Annis severely underused despite billing. Strange seeing some old Barry Foster heist movie from the 70s edited in and there.. But liked the use of the clips at the end of the actors.
