Cineworld Yate opens with spectacular gala event!

It's finally here: Cineworld Yate last night opened its doors with a spectacular gala event, offering excited audiences their first look at their lavish and spacious new cinema.

A 270-strong crowd turned out for a special advance screening of all-star drama Florence Foster Jenkins starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant, with attendees tweeting excitedly about the evening.

The Mayor of Yate, Tony Davis, officially cut the ribbon on the new Cineworld opening and Yate's biggest film buff was also in attendance – receiving an Unlimited card in the process! Jenna was one of those in the audience, and she said it made for a very special occasion.

We were also delighted to host an appearance from the local media in the form of the Yate and Sodbury Voice.

And Rob Parkhouse was beyond excited by the grand opening.

So why should you be excited by the arrival of Cineworld Yate?

Well for starters, the six-screen, 967-seat cinema boasts crystal-clear images and a powerful digital sound system: perfect for bringing to life all the biggest new releases like Captain America: Civil War. And the really good news is both of these incredible movies will be screening on the cinema’s opening week!

Families can advantage of a range of our weekly discounted Movies for Juniors screenings for just £2 on Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays, as well as Student NUS discount.
