Lionsgate Live: stream Eddie the Eagle for free

Rousing sports underdog drama Eddie the Eagle is available to stream courtesy of Lionsgate Live! A Night at the Movies. Scroll down for all the details, including all the info on where you can watch it.

What is the story of Eddie the Eagle?

Kingsman actor Taron Egerton portrays real-life ski jumper Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards in this heartwarming movie from director Dexter Fletcher (who would later direct Egerton in Rocketman).

In a complete about-face from his Kingsman role, Egerton adopts a Westcountry accent and unflattering coke bottle glasses to portray an especially plucky British underdog. Although he aspires to become a world-class ski jumper, unassuming Eddie is told that he lacks the relevant skills.

Undeterred, he teams with boozy instructor Bronson Peary (Hugh Jackman) to demonstrate that while the technique may be lacking, his sense of spirit remains undimmed. To the sound of Matthew Margeson's period-specific, eighties-inflected synth score, we learn to cheer on this unlikely hero.
