Bilbo and the Dwarves are back to face the fearsome dragon in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Booking is now open for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Now as perennially festive as Nat King Cole and Baileys, Peter Jackson returns to Middle-earth this December for the second film in his box-office-smashing Hobbit trilogy.

Last year’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey introduced us to the younger Bilbo Baggins (played by Martin Freeman) and the 13 Dwarves who set out on a quest across Middle-earth to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from Smaug the dragon.

According to Peter Jackson, as the friends’ adventures get ever more dangerous, the movie becomes much, much darker. “This has less humour in it for sure,” the New Zealand-born director says. “The first film was where we allowed ourselves to try and capture something of the children’s book, but it is really not appropriate to do that any more.”

We frankly can't wait for to return to Middle-earth this Christmas – can you?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is released on 13th December. Click here to book your tickets.
