Every Thursday at 7PM UK time, they will be releasing one NT Live title on the National Theatre’s YouTube channel that can be watched for free, on-demand for seven days only.

It's exactly what we all need during this time of stringent, nationwide lockdowns. This week, we're introducing Shakespeare adaptation Coriolanus, including all the details of where you can stream it.

What is the story of Coriolanus?

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston portrays Shakespeare's tortured creation Caius Martius Coriolanus in the Donmar Warehouse's bold staging of the classic play. The Bard's engrossing tragedy is a timeless story of pride and corruption, with Hiddleston giving an electrifying performance.

Director Josie Rourke helms the tale of a Roman general who must confront his people in the midst of an encroaching famine. This production was filmed in 2014 and is rated 12A for occasional scenes of gore.

How was Coriolanus received?

Coriolanus received rave reviews across the board. Time Out graced the play with four stars and praised Hiddleston's "complex" and "compelling" performance.

How long is Coriolanus available to stream for?

It is available to stream for one week from Thursday the 4th of June.
