No Time To Die: check out the new poster ahead of this Thursday's trailer

There's no denying it: 2020 is a year that's left us both shaken and stirred. On that note, a new poster for James Bond thriller No Time To Die has arrived online, a movie whose blend of escapism and high-stakes excitement is desperately needed right now. It anticipates a brand new trailer that's set to arrive this Thursday –  check it out below.

Daniel Craig is set to bow out of the Bond role in No Time To Die, the 25th movie in the classic spy series. It's a role he first inhabited in 2006's Casino Royale, and he was acclaimed for bringing grit and emotional plausibility back to Britain's most famous secret agent.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga (True Detective; Beasts of No Nation), No Time To Die pits 007 against an especially dangerous foe. That would be Safin, played by Bohemian Rhapsody Oscar winner Rami Malek, who shares a dangerous connection with Bond's current love interest Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux, who returns from previous movie Spectre).

New faces include Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch as '00' agent Nomi, who appears to challenge Bond's supremacy after he returns following a long absence, and Knives Out's Ana De Armas as fellow operative Paloma. They join familiar faces Ralph Fiennes (as M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Christoph Waltz (Blofeld).

Scored by The Dark Knight's Hans Zimmer and lensed by La La Land's Linus Sandgren, there's every expectation that No Time To Die will be a handsome and engrossing spectacle. Has 007 finally met his match? Of course, we've been here before, but Safin might be the real deal, given that producer Barbara Broccoli describes him as "a nasty piece of work".

No Time To Die is released in the UK and Ireland on 12th November, so stay tuned to the blog for a full trailer breakdown. In the meantime, here's the current teaser that showcases the return of not one but two classic Aston Martins. Ours is a vodka martini, please.
