Enter The Hunger Games: watch The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in IMAX, 4DX and Superscreen

Discover the origins of President Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Some 60 years before the trials of Katniss Everdeen, the younger Snow found himself caught between his family ambitions, the machinations of the 10th annual Hunger Games and his love for District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird.

Tom Blyth portrays the young Snow, Rachel Zegler is Lucy and the heavy-weight trio of Peter Dinklage, Viola Davis and Jason Schwartzmann portray the nefarious game designers. It's one of the biggest movies of the winter season and we're inviting Cineworlders to step into the Panem arena in a multitude of exciting premium formats.

Scroll down to find out more. And may the odds be ever in your favour.

IMAX

Every new Hunger Games movie is an invitation to step into the arena as you feel the visceral experiences of the imperilled new tributes. As with the previous Hunger Games movies, director Francis Lawrence paints on a massive scale as he takes in the decadent opulence of the capital and its citizens, who are horribly resplendent even as the tragic tributes head for their demise.

The Hunger Games is, therefore, the kind of blockbuster canvas for which IMAX was designed. Larger-than-usual screens combine with a unique remastering process so every hard-hitting action sequence and palpable moment of betrayal glistens with added detail. A perfectly tuned integrated sound and speaker system is the icing on the cake for how it sonically absorbs you in the blood, sweat and tears of the Panem arena.

Of course, this being an instalment in the Hunger Games series, crystal-clear audio also draws out the behind-the-scenes dialogue connivances of the Hunger Games designers. Music also plays a key role from James Newton Howard's score to the diegetic (in-world) placements of classic tunes from Hunger Games lore such as 'The Hanging Tree'.

Find out more about the IMAX remastering process in the following behind-the-scenes video.

4DX

The world of The Hunger Games is renowned as rollercoaster rides that exhilaratingly hurl you from one spectacular set piece to the next. But forget about passively watching the movie in your standard widescreen presentation. Instead, import the physical impact of the movie directly into your Cineworld experience.

4DX is a multi-sensory format that is unique to Cineworld cinemas in the UK and Ireland. Motion-programmed seats are timed to every moment of combat as the tributes fight for survival. Scents and effects, including rain and wind, give tangibility to the visual action, making you feel as if you're there. To reiterate, this is an experience that is wholly unique to Cineworld. In other words, nowhere else can you physically step into the world of The Hunger Games.

The specifics of 4DX and how it works to immerse a movie audience can be discovered in our behind-the-scenes video clip.
