The new Fast and Furious film has been given an official title

If you've been looking forward to the tenth instalment in the Fast and Furious franchise, then it's time to get X-cited – the film has been given an official name.

The forthcoming action flick, due to hit Cineworld cinemas on 19 May 2023, is to be called Fast X (X being Roman numerals for ten, as we're sure you'll know). Vin Diesel, who'll once again be playing car hijacker extraordinaire Dominic Toretto, announced the news on his Instagram feed, sharing the movie's flashy logo with his 79 million followers, alongside the caption: “Day one.” And it seems to have gone down well with fans, receiving more than 1.3 million likes at the time of going to press.

So, what else do we know about Fast X so far? Well, it's being directed by Justin Lin, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth films in the series. Long-time Fast and Furious servant Chris Morgan returns as screenwriter after making way for Lin and Daniel Casey for F9. Jason 'Aquaman' Momoa has signed up to play the baddie. And, as we reported earlier this month, Captain Marvel star Brie Larson has also joined the cast. We're sure it's going to be X-hilarating...
