Here are the Cineworld terms and conditions, privacy information and legal notices for all the services we provide. They are subject to change and can be updated on a regular basis.

 


1. Terms of Entry: Introduction

1.1 Cineworld wants all of its customers to enjoy their visit to its cinemas. To help ensure this, admission to any Cineworld cinema is subject to the following terms and conditions. By purchasing or using a Cineworld cinema ticket, customers (including Unlimited Card holders) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. Terms of Entry: Key points

2.1 Behaviour: Cineworld reserves the right to require customers who are disruptive, antisocial or violent to leave the cinema immediately without any entitlement to a refund. What constitutes disruptive, antisocial or violent behaviour shall be determined at the sole discretion of the Cineworld Duty Manager and includes both physical and verbal abuse.

2.2 Alcohol and Food Policy: Neither alcohol nor hot food may be brought onto the premises.  Only hot food bought on the premises may be consumed on the premises.  Alcohol may only be purchased and consumed in Cineworld licensed bar areas or in licensed screens and licensing laws will be strictly enforced.

2.3 Mobile Devices: All mobile devices including mobile telephones must be switched off at all times during the feature presentation.

2.4 Piracy: Customers are not allowed to bring any form of recording or copying equipment (in whatever medium, including optical devices such as Google Glasses) into the auditorium. Recording or copying equipment taken into the auditorium may be confiscated for inspection by the Cineworld Duty Manager. Customers are reminded that it is a serious criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy any film, soundtrack or other copyright protected material shown in the auditorium and customers found in contravention will be liable on conviction to an unlimited fine and imprisonment of up to 10 years.

2.5 Certification: Cineworld is not responsible for the certification of adverts, trailers or films. All complaints in respect of the wrongful classification of any of these items should be directed to the British Board of Film Classification (the BBFC) or the Irish Film Classification Office (IFCO) when referring to Irish classification.

2.6 Search Policy: In the interest of safety, security and other reasonable causes, Cineworld may need to search a customer’s possessions whilst on the premises for any item which a staff member believes may contravene these terms and conditions. Cineworld reserves the right to refuse entry or require a customer, who doesn’t agree to being searched, to leave the premises without entitlement to a refund.

2.7 Parking: Cineworld is not responsible for the parking regulations imposed by third parties, including any cost imposed on customers. Customers should take up any issues directly with the third party concerned.

2.8 Refunds: Tickets purchased for performances at a Cineworld cinema are non-refundable. Ticket prices may change between the date of purchase and the date of the relevant performance.  Where the price paid for the tickets differs to the price for equivalent tickets available for purchase at the time and date of the performance, Cineworld will not charge for and customers may not claim any refund of the difference.

2.9 3D Glasses: For RealD 3D, MasterImage or Volfonia 3D screenings customers may bring respectively their own RealD 3D, MasterImage or Volfonia 3D glasses or may purchase a pair online or from the cinema. For IMAX 3D performances, glasses will be provided at the cinema and are included in the ticket price. For IMAX 3D with Laser screenings the ticket price includes the use of IMAX 3D with Laser glasses. IMAX 3D with Laser glasses will be provided in cinema and customers must return them to a member of cinema staff or leave them on their seat at the end of the film.

3. Terms of Entry: Entry into the cinema

3.1 Only customers in possession of a valid ticket will be admitted into the auditorium to which the ticket relates and admission will be permitted only for the duration of the performance specified by the ticket. At the time of collection, customers should check that the ticket’s details are correct as tickets cannot be later exchanged or refunded in the event of any error.

3.2 Lost, stolen or damaged tickets will not be replaced. Any customer who does not hold a valid ticket may be required to leave the premises.

3.3 Customers should keep the ticket stubs or e-tickets with them at all times in order to re-enter the relevant auditorium.

3.4 Cineworld will refuse admission to any person who, in the opinion of an authorised Cineworld employee or representative, is under the minimum age required by the BBFC or IFCO classification for a presentation and cannot prove that they are at least the minimum age required. Cineworld expressly reserves the right to request photographic identification verifying the age of the customer (e.g. a driving licence or passport) for entry into 12A, 15, 15A, 16 and 18 certificated films.  Photocopies of birth certificates together with a form of photographic identification connecting the name on the birth certificate to the customer, passports and driving licences are acceptable.  We also accept digital photographic ID displayed through the YOTI app, available to download at yoti.com. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age to be admitted after 7.00pm. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age at all times (regardless of film classification).

3.5 Student tickets are available at certain times on specified days.  Student tickets will only be issued upon the production of valid National Union of Students (NUS) or Union of Students in Ireland (USI) photographic identification showing a clear photograph of the student and the applicable expiry date of the identification. Student tickets will be limited to one per student. Photographic identification may be checked before admission to the auditorium in the case of pre-booked tickets.

3.6 Customers aged 15, 16 or 17 are entitled to student tickets (when and where available) without presenting student identification, however they may be required to provide identification in order to verify their age.

3.7 Seniors tickets are available at certain times on specified days. Seniors tickets will only be issued upon the production of valid senior card, senior bus pass / Freedom pass or state pension letter.  Senior tickets will be limited to one per senior.  Proof of entitlement and identification may be checked before admission to the auditorium in the case of pre-booked tickets.

3.8 Carers of disabled customers in the UK are entitled to a free ticket in the UK if the person they are accompanying can show a valid Cinema Exhibitors’ Association Card (CEA card) or locally issued disability card. Please see www.ceacard.co.uk for the full terms of use. Carers of disabled customers in Ireland may be issued a free ticket at the sole discretion of an authorised Cineworld employee or representative. Guide and Hearing dogs are welcome but other animals are not permitted on the premises.

3.9 In order to avoid disturbing other customers, customers who arrive after the start of the feature presentation will only be permitted entry into the auditorium at the Cinema Duty Manager’s sole discretion.

4. Terms of Entry: Our obligations

4.1 Although Cineworld seeks to follow its advertised programme, it reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a performance or to substitute an alternative film or presentation, if forced to do so by circumstances beyond its control.

4.2 If a film showing or other presentation is cancelled, rescheduled or substituted, the Cinema Duty Manager will have the sole discretion to decide whether to refund customers the cost of their tickets or to issue replacement tickets for the same film or presentation at an alternative time.

5. Terms of Entry: Safety and security

5.1 Cineworld reserves the right to refuse the entry onto its premises of any person who is believed to be intoxicated and may require any person or customer who is believed to be intoxicated to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund.

5.2 No customer is allowed to bring any illegal substances or weapons onto the
premises. Anyone found in possession of such items will be refused entry or will be required to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund. Cineworld takes such matters seriously and may report the incident to the police or Garda Síochána in Ireland.

5.3 In order to comply with applicable health and safety legislation, customers must at all times remain within the public areas of the premises and must not obstruct the aisles with personal belongings.

5.4 Customers must keep their personal belongings with them at all times. Cineworld accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft, alteration or damage to any personal items brought onto the premises.

5.5 Customers are not permitted to smoke on the premises of any Cineworld cinema this includes any form of electronic cigarette or other artificial smoking devices. Cineworld reserves the right to require any person or customer found to be in contravention of this rule to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund.

6. Terms of Entry: Other matters

6.1 Nothing in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights as a customer or excludes or limits Cineworld’s liability for fraud or for death or personal injury resulting from Cineworld’s negligence or for any other liability which Cineworld cannot exclude or limit under law but otherwise Cineworld’s liability to you as a customer shall be limited to the ticket price paid.

6.2 In addition to its other rights, in the event that a customer or group of customers breach or breaches any of the terms and conditions of this policy, Cineworld reserves the right to take such action as is necessary to prevent a reoccurrence of such breach (including recovering any costs incurred). Such action may include banning the relevant customer or customers from all Cineworld premises and/or taking legal action.

6.3 Cineworld reserves the right to charge for any additional service or product which it may supply including but not limited to 3D glasses.

6.4 Any Cineworld Duty Manager may refuse entry to any person onto the premises of the relevant Cineworld cinema at any time and will be under no obligation to provide a reason to that person.

6.5 Cineworld accepts no responsibility for any information displayed or broadcast on the premises by any third party.

6.6 Cineworld reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions from time to time without notice.

7. 4DX Safety Warning And Guidelines

Before purchasing a ticket please read the following 4DX Safety Warning and Guidelines (only available at certain cinemas):

NOTICE:

The 4DX is a motion, air, water and scent generating system built into 4DX is a motion, air, water, bubble, fog and scent generating system built into special seats. 4DX motion chairs employ strong motion, significant vibrations, strobe lighting and special physical effects which, if the following Safety Warning and Safety Guidelines are not acted on and observed, may create a risk of injury during 4DX presentations.

By purchasing a ticket and by entering the 4DX auditorium you confirm that you fully understand, have acted on, and will observe and comply with the Safety Warning and Safety Guidelines. You enter at your own risk and Cineworld and 4DX accept no liability for any injury or damage suffered as a result of viewing a presentation in a cinema equipped with 4DX motion chairs, except as caused by their own negligence.

4DX PRESENTATIONS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR:

1.    Persons who suffer from high blood pressure, heart conditions, back or neck conditions, epilepsy, or any type of serious medical condition.
2.    Elderly, disabled or blind persons.
3.    Pregnant women.
4.    Persons who are prone to motion sickness or persons who are physically or mentally sensitive.
5.    Intoxicated persons.
6.    Children under 4 years of age (children between the ages of 4 and 7 years must be accompanied by a supervising adult.)
7.    Persons under 3’ 4” (102 cm) tall.
8.    People weighing over 265 lbs (120 kg).
9.    Assistance dogs for health and safety reasons.

SAFETY WARNING:

  1. The 4DX enabled seats may be harmful to women who are pregnant, persons with high blood pressure, heart conditions, the elderly, disabled persons, persons with back, head or neck conditions or injuries, epilepsy, those with other pre-existing medical conditions, or those with a weak or nervous disposition. The 4DX enabled seats should not be used by such persons unless they have first obtained their doctor’s approval to do so.
  2. The 4DX enabled seats may cause loss of balance, headache or dizziness and, in exceptional circumstances, epilepsy-like symptoms.
  3. The 4DX enabled seats may not be used by children under 4 years of age. Sitting on laps is not allowed. Children aged between 4 and 7 may use 4DX enabled seats with adult supervision. Booster seats must not be used on the 4DX enabled seats.

SAFETY GUIDELINES:

  1. You must at all times remain in your seat during the performance unless leaving the auditorium. If you experience any discomfort or need assistance immediately, flag or call an usher/ staff member present in the auditorium.
  2. You must not obstruct the aisles or space between the seats with personal belongings or other items. You must not put your arms or legs in-between the seats.
  3. Do not bring valuables into the cinema. Adequately secure and protect your property.
  4. Do not stand on footrests and be careful not to trip or fall over footrests when getting on or off the 4DX motion chairs.
  5. Hot drinks are not allowed in the 4DX auditorium. Keep cold drinks and alcohol sealed, with a lid on, and drink only during non-intensive motion scenes.
  6. Any person who is believed to be intoxicated may be refused entry into the 4DX auditorium or may be requested to leave the 4DX auditorium immediately without any entitlement to a refund.
  7. Do not wear, or alternatively protect, delicate clothing as it could be damaged by 4DX’s effects.

8. ViP Experience (only available at certain UK cinemas)

  1. ViP Experience tickets for 2D or 3D performance currently available in selected Cineworld cinemas only.
  2. ViP tickets includes: unlimited soft drinks, a selection of cinema snacks and access to Cineworld’s private lounge and private bar.
  3. Alcohol is not included in the ViP ticket price. Alcohol can be purchased separately in the private bar, subject to bar opening times.
  4. Alcohol and/or hot food may not be brought onto the premises.
  5. 1 ViP ticket per person. Same price apply to adults and children.
  6. Individuals under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible person aged at least 18 years at all times.
  7. ViP tickets are subject to availability.
  8. ViP tickets can be booked online at www.cineworld.com or in-cinema.
  9. When booking online (i) credit/debit card information must be provided (for processing purposes) and (ii) a booking fee of 95p/95c per person for whom a seat is booked will apply (full T&Cs available at www.cineworld.com/terms). Customers who do not wish to pay the fee can purchase a ViP ticket in person at the cinema.
  10. ViP tickets may not be used in conjunction with any other offer.
  11. Booking and use of ViP tickets are subject to Cineworld’s Website Terms of Use and Terms of Entry available at www.cineworld.com/terms.
  12. ViP tickets are not transferable and may not be re-sold.
  13. Nutritional information is available from a member of staff upon request. We advise customers with any specific dietary requirements to check the menu (available from the cinema upon request) in advance of purchasing a ViP ticket.
  14. The Cineworld Duty Manager may deny access to any person into the screens, private lounge and private bar at any time and at his sole discretion.
